The individual case is one that is perceived and owned by an individual being.
In contrast, the composite case is perceived by an individual being, but is owned by another.
That is what the composite case is; there is no other definition. As a being becomes Clear, their ability to perceive things exterior to
themselves increases.
When this happens, they begin to see the postulates and creations of other beings.
At this point, it is easy to confuse them — unless this is pointed out and clarified in session.
Earlier works on Scientology attributed the phenomena of the composite case to a different set of factors.
The Restoration of Human Ability
It was believed that certain implants or incidents could cause two or more thetans to become stuck together, and that these other beings
could effect a person at a later time on the track.
This data and approach in auditing has now been found to be wrong.
You cannot “stick together” or “combine” beings with one another.
It is impossible, and there is no data anywhere else to support otherwise.
You can convince beings that this is possible, but the truth is a different matter.
Instead, the real cause for this is a form of telepathy that was present during Incident Zero and the formation of the reactive mind.
This means that we all have telepathy on a basic level, even if we cannot perceive it initially.
And this is exactly how we pick up on the case of other beings, but cannot resolve it for good — because it is not ours.
The way to resolve this is to run the composite case (that has ownership other than our own) until the point can be reached in Incident Zero where it was formed in the first place.
At which point the postulate and static cases can be picked up and addressed with processing.
But what about before all of this?
Well, since we are all immortal spiritual beings, there is surely an existence prior to Incident Zero, but we are not concerned with that at this time.
The Composite Case
Addressing Incident Zero and its effects seems to be enough to resolve mankind’s problems.
Maybe one day what happened prior to this will be researched and addressed as well.
But our goal is to trace the individual, composite, postulate, and static cases back to this event.
A Brief History of the Composite Case
Some of the details in this chapter are approximate and not meant to be exact.
To fully understand the Composite Case and what went wrong with the use of this theory, it is necessary to provide a brief history of its
discovery and development.
1950-1954
During this period the only reference made to what would later be known as the Composite Case is circuits .
In particular, demon circuits.
A demon circuit is a ridge on a person's case that is so powerful (has so much charge) that it is capable of compartmentalizing a portion of a
being’s mind and becoming its own entity.
It has its own command phrase like “We are all going to hell”, or “You are the devil.”
So, a person then appears to have a “demon” in them, when really it was just this circuit appearing to be something else.
These entities (as will be explained later) are what became confused with the Composite Case theory.
1963-1979
This era covers Scientology's development from Saint Hill Manor in England, to the formation of the Flag Land Base in Clearwater, Florida.
With it we saw the creation of the original OT Levels, and the first mention of the modern-day Composite Case.
This began with OT III.
Originally OT III was run just like any other electronic implant in Scientology.
But because of difficulties with running the materials in this fashion, a new theory and method for running this level had to be developed.
It was stated in that theory that when two or more beings were implanted with the use of electronics, these beings could be made to
stick to one another, thereafter affecting each other through space and time.
The individually stuck beings were referred to as BTs (body thetans) and groups of them as clusters (two or more beings bound by a single
implant.)
A Brief History of the Composite Case
These were initially handled like any other being with the use of Dianetics and knowledge of electronics running in Scientology.
But later (around 1980) New Era Dianetics for Operating Thetans (NED for OTs, or NOTs) was developed, to handle any case involving
BTs or clusters.
These techniques are still in use today, beginning with OT III and on up through to New OT VII.
1981- PRESENT
Today, a person can be expected to run on the six lower Scientology grades until they become Clear on Grade VII (with the use of New Era
Dianetics).
Then they embark on their first solo auditing by going through the pre-OT Levels (OT I to OT III.)
Once OT III is completed, a being will then be run on Audited and Solo NOTs (OT IV to OT VIII.)
At that point they are then invited to do New OT VIII.
After this, like the person who shot JFK or where Jimmy Hoffa is buried, no one knows.
The data has been kept a secret and there are no public references to what is beyond OT VIII.
But since the original OT Levels (IV through VIII) were gutted from The Bridge, a guessing man would say these compose OT IX through
of OT XIV.
That is, if they exist at all.
PRESENT
What then is the proper sequence for handling the Composite Case?
It is simple, if we keep in mind the data written in Restoration of Human Ability.
We process a being from raw public to Clear.
Once Clear is achieved, the Composite Case is run.
This is done until they become exterior with full perception, not just the perception of being exterior.
They have to actually be located at the place they are perceiving from!
After exteriorization is achieved, the general drills and processes from Creation of Human Ability can be used.
At which point the thetan will be OT!
So, we have:
1. Clear
2. Composite Clear
3. Exterior
4. OT.
That is the correct route to follow.
